Hengstler ATEX absolute shaft encoders are available with an aluminium or stainless steel housing for applications where regular wash down situations are likely to occur, they can also be used in highly corrosive environments. ATEX encoder enclosures are explosion proof, approved by the PTB, therefore permitted for use in hazardous or explosive areas. The new AX65 boasts an impressive mounting depth of only 70mm and fits where other encoders do not, built with marine grade stainless steel as standard (1.4404 / 316L) capable of excessive radial or axial shaft loads of up to 300N making the AX65 an extremely rugged product and ready for the most demanding of applications.
Choose between IP64 or IP67 protection class ratings and resolutions of up to 16 bit multi-turn plus 12 bit single turn for the AX65 encoder or up to 12 bit multi-turn plus with 22 bit single turn for the AX70/AX71 series encoder. Single turn and multi-turn options can be produced with a choice of fieldbus interfaces, such as PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, SSI and CANopen, the full list is shown below.
